Orphans in China – How much do you know?
Sponsor a needy Child in China, your sponsorship can help an orphan to reach a goal, to give him a more meaningful life.
FTH HK supports extreme poor children, orphans at foster homes and left behind children in Zhongshan, Dandong, Heilongjiang, Sichuan and Yushu. In China, orphans are faced with 1) insufficient welfare support; 2) Unmet physical and emotional needs; 3) Unaffordable education and medical expenses. Orphans often had to find low income labour intensive jobs, to live in the street, ultimately orphans lose out on education opportunities and find themselves trapped in a vicious cycle. They spend their entire lives struggling to meet their most basic needs.
Our foster homes offer orphans an intimate family like setting that supports their growth into healthy and self-sustaining adults. In the long term, the orphans will increase their confidence, self-awareness. House-parents prepare them to be self-sufficient and one day become contributing members of society. We are grateful to Citic Bank International to have taken up the sponsorship of the left behind children in Sichuan last season, this is a meaningful and powerful way to reach out and touch another human being, transform their lives totally and give them a chance to find the true meaning in life.
